THE HISTORY OF THE GOOD SEED CHURCH

Pastor Samuel Thompson received the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 17 at a Christmas Revival at Crouch Temple COGIC on 23rd and Central in Los Angeles.  He received the baptism of the Holy Spirit the same night under the preaching of Evangelist J.L. Payne

(Now Bishop Payne).  Pastor Thompson was licensed to preach at age 18 and ordained to preach at age 27.  Bishop Crouch was the presiding Bishop of California at that time. Pastor Thompson served two years with his uncle, (the late Dr. Marcus T. Anderson of

St. Mark COGIC in Riverside).  And was mentored by his uncle, the late Dr. P.J. Anderson of Grace Chapel COGIC in Los Angeles.  Pastor Thompson was called to pastor at the age of 28.  He was an active member of the ministerial staff at West Angeles COGIC from 1970-1985 under the leadership of Pastor Charles E. Blake (now the presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ).  Pastor Thompson shared with his pastor how the Lord woke him up three nights in a row and instructed him to read Matthew 13:18-23.
Vs. 23 But he that received seed into the good ground
is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it;
which also beareth fruit and bring forth
some hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
